Insurance plays a key role in economic development of all countries. Statistically, the insurance rate in all developed countries like USA, Japan, European countries and even India is upwards of 80%. Whereas in Nepal, as per the data of Nepal government, insurance rate is 40% which includes Travel Insurance, Life Insurance and Term Life Insurance.

The rate of Life Insurance is estimated to be around mere 20%. However, in a country like Nepal, prone to natural calamities like landslide, flood and earthquake, and affected by critical illnesses like cancer, heart disease, stroke, kidney failure etc that are otherwise extremely expensive for private treatment, life insurance has an important role to play in the lives of all.

My journey

I joined the life insurance industry in 2018. Since then, I have been consistently MDRT-qualified every year up to 2025.

In 2020, I became the top advisor in Nepal from Himalayan Life Insurance, which was one of the biggest achievements of my career. Currently, I also serve as a top-listed Agency Manager in the company.

So far, I have successfully sold over 600 life insurance policies, and I am leading a team of more than 300 downline agents. I feel proud that over 35 members of my team have also qualified for MDRT under my guidance.

I'm especially proud that I joined the life insurance industry when Nepal had only 9–10% insurance coverage. Since then, with increasing awareness, education, and involvement of youth, the industry has grown significantly.

I've had the honor of attending two global insurance conferences — first in Sydney, Australia in 2019, and again in 2022. These were important milestones in my career and personal growth.

I've contributed more than Rs. 4.2 million in premium volume to Himalayan Life Insurance. I'm truly happy and honored to be part of the life insurance industry and to be making a positive impact on Nepalese society by helping families secure their future.
